Biography

I was born in Topeka, Kansas, heartland of the USA and I am the oldest of seven children. I attended the University of Colorado and received a BFA with a focus on painting and art education. I became an interior designer for twenty-plus years and have a strong passion for shapes and colors. I traveled extensively, by airplane always looking down the window. Ongoing special interests include studying and teaching a metaphysics course called Eschatology, following the Walter Method.

Statement

My desire to paint comes from deep lifelong interests in the arts, design, and love for life with its beautiful and abundant expressions.  Another passion that informs my life and art immensely is Eschatology, a metaphysical study of the science of life.  Some of its basic teachings are: Life is mental and we are cause for ourselves; Life is also good and is expressed individually.  It is important to only think right, to be patient, gentle, and kind, to respect others, and to forgive. Through painting, I want to extend and share the generosity and beauty of life.  I want it to encourage others as well as myself to reflect, to be inspired, to unfold more about ourselves…and equally important: to enjoy.
